WHO ARE WE?

Seddon Village Traders Association (SVTA) was established in 2016. The aim was to promote local businesses and develop the Seddon business district's relationship with Council. The main purpose of SVTA is to drive tourism and increase customers to the precinct through business collaboration in marketing, events and promotion and access grants and funds to support these endeavours.

What have we done?

Since inception, the SVTA has developed the following:

• Brand development including logo

• Website development and expansion

• Social Media management (Facebook 3K+ & Instagram 2.4K+)

• Collaboration and development of events including Seddon Festival, Christmas Fair 2019, Christmas in July 2022, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween & Christmas events

• Inception of Boomerang Bags Seddon

• Creation of Seddon Village short film and photography for promotional purposes

• Collaboration in West Projections Festival in 2018 / 2019

• Successful applications for several grants including Maribyrnong Council BID & Festival grants, two BCTG grants, Greater Western Water and Community Bank Seddon grants

• Roll out of Seddon Village Gift Card program

• Successful advocating to Council to fund a new Urban Design Framework 2023 for Seddon

• $20,000 Vic Govt grant for small business marketing & branding workshops for SVTA members in 2023

• Creation of Seddon Village Historic Walking Tours in collaboration with Footscray Historical Society

• Currently reviewing plans for Seddon Festival 2024

• Reviewing options for return of Snapshots of Seddon

• Regular SVTA social events to encourage support and collaboration amongst business owners
