local artist , Elzette Bester, exhibited at seddon community bank
From the 14th November 2022, the Community Bank Seddon branch is supporting an exhibition of art work from local artist, Elzette Bester.
Elzette is local to Melbourne’s West living in Ardeer with a studio in Sunshine. She works in pencil, pen, gauche, watercolour and digitally. She is thrilled to showcase her collection at the branch, which includes illustrations of her local Ardeer community, her personal and emotional observations during the 2020 / 2021 pandemic, and work inspired by her beloved home country, South Africa.
As a Visual Artist, Elzette that has worked in the creative industries of Graphic Design, Advertising, and Illustration for over 25 years. Born and raised in South Africa, she completed a Bachelor of Information Design and Honours in Visual Communication at the University of Pretoria, working in Johannesburg and Cape Town for a few years before migrating to Australia in 2002.
Establishing herself as a Freelance Artist in Melbourne, Elzette has worked on a diverse range of projects from Corporate Branding and Publishing, to Community Incentives and Art Commissions. After becoming a Mum in 2009, she has focussed mainly on Freelance Art Projects, not only for an income but also to continue growing her illustration portfolio that can be applied to prints and products.
Elzette is also an Art Tutor for Primary and Secondary Students and was Artist in Residence for 6 months at Ardeer Primary School in 2021 for the ‘Creative Workers in Schools Initiative’ through Regional Arts Victoria.
All artwork in Elzette’s current exhibition is available for sale as part of a limited edition range. Each print is signed and numbered and printed on Museum Quality 310gsm Smooth Cotton Rag with Archival Inks. The exhibition will run until February 2023.
